Dogs, dogs, dogs…With Mercury in retrograde the last few weeks, you may have felt stuck in a down-stay. You’ll be glad to know, we are in the last day of the cycle, moving into a time of results and new beginnings. Today is a good day to review where you are and where you’d like to go. For me, I’ve been on a lot of leash walks lately, so I am setting my intention to a future full of off-leash romps. It helps if you visualize what you want to create, so don’t hold back from daydreaming in between dog naps. As the Moon moves into Scorpio today, expect intensity. Superficiality can feel irritating, so you may be tempted to snap at cats. While it’s a good time to experience your personal power, snapping at the cat probably shouldn’t be part of your exploration, unless you want to end up in the dog house. It certainly is hard to exercise self-restraint right now with Venus aligning with Jupiter, but just do your best to remember your training. Give yourself some space (maybe on the couch) and get ready to move into new territory!

Dogs! The Pisces Moon may tempt you to leave business unfinished, but we all know how important it is to do our business. Take an inventory: Did you leave food uneaten in your dog dish? Is there a partially chewed bone left abandoned on the living room floor? Now is the time to stay focused and take care of what’s left undone.

As well, Mercury is a couple of days into a retrograde cycle, so you may misread communications. Take care when answering your peE-mail and pay particular attention to other dogs’ tail and ear signals. At the same time, a sextile between the sun and Saturn may bring about unexpected opportunities. So, in spite of Mercury, in between dog naps, keep your nose to the ground and be ready to pounce.

Dogs! Here is your guidance from the stars…Today the warrior planet, Mars, moves into conjunction with transformative Pluto. With a Cancer Moon joining the picture, this creates the circumstance for volatility and struggles for control, combined with a need to hide a sense of vulnerability. There may be a lot of pulling at the leash and a desire to take the alpha role, even in situations where you would be better off submitting. Meanwhile, with four planets in Scorpio, the sign of passionate feelings and a commitment to change, everything is intensified. Today you may find yourself extremely sensitive to others’ use of authority, and resentment is likely. If possible, avoid leash walks and opt for exercise that allows for more freedom. As well, with the Cancer Moon, you would appreciate reassurance that you are a Good Dog. So let me be the first to tell you, you are!

Dogs! Life is going to get interesting with this week’s approaching Venus-Uranus opposition. Venus, the planet of love, will oppose Uranus, planet of rebellion and awakening. Oh woof. This all means confusion in the world of puppy love. You may find yourself feeling abandoned when your friends run across the field without you…then alternately, smothered as they run up to roughhouse. It will be hard to find a comfortable balance between love and freedom. Luckily, Venus opposing Uranus also inspires a taste for the unconventional, including an appreciation for clothing that is unusual; this is a good alignment of the planets as you prepare for the upcoming Halloween festivities and dog costume parades. Just keep in mind there is also a tendency toward impulsivity during this planetary alignment. Don’t choose a costume too quickly. And this week, pooches, it might be best to think before you bark.

Dogs! Today’s trine between Jupiter and Uranus brings an expansive and sparkling energy which will extend through next spring…giving you plenty of time to sparkle. Expansiveness, freedom, boldness, and love are in the stars. Don’t limit yourself to a leash walk or a tiny yard; really get out there and run like a wild animal in off-leash parks. (Think the Born Free theme song.) Make sure to play with gusto, and kiss all the other dogs.

You’ll also have increased confidence, creativity, and the energy to start new projects: consider creating some bone art, taking a canine-friendly trip, or writing your memoirs. Don’t be surprised by all of the synchronicities crossing your path; for instance, you may be thinking about dinner, and a full dog dish is put right in front of you at that moment. Or, you may be out for a walk, daydreaming about chasing a squirrel, and one crosses your path. These pleasant surprises are the norm under the current celestial scoop. Keep in mind, not every opportunity that arises will be the right fit for you; follow your nose, and all will unfold to your best advantage.

Dogs! The Moon has shifted into Pisces, highlighting fantasy and intuition over paws-to-the-ground “reality.” This is the time to have a midsummer dog’s dream; so for the time being, let go of guarding the house and allow yourself to indulge in daydreaming. Remember, fantasy creates the tracks for the reality train to drive down…so this time of dreams and fantasies is not just a superficial flight of fancy.

Taking time for solitude is necessary under this celestial constellation; enjoy quietly watching the world go by your big front window. Indulge yourself in chewing bones, rolling in the grass, and taking time to really smell and intuit hidden information within all of the markings when you’re out on walks. Pooches! That’s your Celestial Scoop!

Dogs! The moon has moved into Libra. The highlight for the next few days is on being social. We want to bounce ideas off our friends, as well as balls. The Moon in Libra is also a good time for relaxed gatherings; a low-key romp at the dog park is the perfect activity, as long as the environment is aesthetically pleasing. This celestial situation also offers beneficial circumstances for making amends or compromising. If you’ve stolen someone’s bone recently, return it. If another dog wants to play with your ball, let them have a turn. This will restore balance to your canine world. And for you small dog fashionistas, now is the right time to experiment with fashion. So get out there haute dogues…your fashion risk promises to become a trend. Pooches, that’s your celestial scoop.

Dogs! The passion and emotional intensity continue this week with a Scorpio Moon. If things do begin to settle down, you may notice a desire to put your paw back in the pot to stir it up again. The Scorpio Moon also intensifies a dog’s already loyal and protective nature. We don’t have time for unfulfilling relationships or one-way streets. We want as much back as we give. If you feel snubbed at the dog park this week, instead of trying to re-engage with a play bow, you may find yourself giving the offender the cold shoulder just to test the relationship. The current celestial constellation also reinforces a canine’s already tenacious nature. You may be reluctant to follow commands, especially those that expect you to release a much-desired object, such as drop it or leave it. This week, you may be a dog who just won’t let go.

Dogs! This week, unfortunately, your social responsibilities may conflict with personal desires. Make an effort to wag, watch the house, and participate in family activities…even if you would rather growl or hide out under the bed instead. This feeling of conflict will pass. By handling the situation with grace, you can avoid creating unnecessary drama.

You may also notice a strong desire to communicate all of the feelings bubbling up inside, but you’d be better off keeping your bark to yourself. You don’t want to start out the week in the dog house.

Dogs! Today the Moon moves into Gemini, leading to a sense of restlessness. As you gaze out of your living room window watching the world go by, this influence may increase the temptation to bark and fuss at those who cavort along your sidewalk. In addition, with Uranus turning retrograde, you may feel a desire for deepened psychological analysis and a need to understand why. Why can’t I have another bone? Why are those treats in your pocket instead of my mouth? Why am I looking through the window instead of digging in the garden? These questions are bound to arise, as the stars moves us into a time of deep searching, shaking up what we accept as the norm. So dogs, try to think before you act…under these conditions you may become a rebel without a cause. Keep your nose to the bone, and everything should be fine.
