My human was fixing up an old quilt, and while she was busy with that, I invented an entirely new quilt pattern — I call it “Flying Geese, Lying Poodle.” Opportunities for dog creativity are everywhere once you look around.
My friend, Ruby, came over and she totally gets it. She added herself to the quilt as well. We definitely add that je ne sais paw.
When creating art with dog imagery, the sky is the limit.
For this installment of Paws and Crafts, I want to share a Beeswax Collage, Ode to Two Good Dogs.
This piece combines ephemera, photos, stamps, paint, lace, metal, fabric, yarn, and copper tape. Once the collage is set, apply a layer of melted beeswax. Next, use a mini-iron to melt the excess wax and allow the collage underneath to re-emerge in its antiqued form.
You’ll see, Dogs, by the end of the process, the piece smells so good, it’s really hard not to lick it.
A beeswax collage is a beautiful way to create and honor the dogs in your life.
